What is the RoHS test?
On January 27, 2003, the European Union issued the "Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment", referred to as the RoHS Certification Directive, which has caused a huge impact worldwide and set off a prelude to the product green revolution in the electronic and electrical industry. After three years of revision process, on July 1, 2011, the European Union officially released the 2011/65/EU Directive (RoHS2.0) in its official gazette to replace 2002/95/EC.
The RoHS certification directive restricts the use of lead Pb, mercury Hg, cadmium Cd, hexavalent chromium Cr6+, PBB and PBDE in the production process of certain electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU.
In RoHS2.0, in addition to the original six restricted substances, four new restricted substances are added: DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP (the limit requirements are all: 0.1%).
1. The EU member states shall formulate and amend necessary laws, regulations, and management regulations in accordance with the requirements of the directive as late as December 31, 2016.
2. The EU member states shall implement this regulation from July 22, 2019.
3. Restrictions on DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP in medical equipment (including extracorporeal medical equipment), monitoring and control equipment (including industrial monitoring and control equipment) will begin on July 22, 2021.
4. The restrictions on DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP do not apply to cables or parts that are put on the market before July 22, 2019 for EEE (electronic and electrical equipment) maintenance, reuse, function update or function upgrade. It is also applicable to the maintenance, re-use, function update or function upgrade of medical equipment (including in vitro medical equipment), monitoring and control equipment (including industrial monitoring and control equipment), cables or components put on the market before July 22, 2021 part.
