Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standardization Administration) issued the National Standard Announcement No. 12 in 2021, the national standard for household plugs and sockets GB/T 1002-2021 "Types, basic parameters and dimensions of single-phase plugs and sockets for household and similar purposes". " and GB/T 2099.1-2021 "Household and Similar Plugs and Sockets Part 1: General Requirements" will be officially implemented on November 1, 2022.
What's new after the revision?
Compared with the old standard, the new standard GB/T 2099.1 and GB/T 1002 are mainly optimized and improved in the following aspects:
1. The single-phase two-pole dual-purpose socket is cancelled.
Single-phase two-pole dual-purpose sockets (commonly known as "flat sockets") have larger jacks, especially "flat sockets" without protective doors, and consumers have potential risk of electric shock during use. The new standard cancels the single-phase two-pole dual-purpose socket to avoid electric shock accidents caused by fingers or metal objects touching the socket jack, which greatly improves the safety of household socket products.
2. The insulating sheath of the plug and pin is added.
An insulating sheath is added to the plug and plug to avoid touching the live plug during plugging and unplugging, so that the safety of consumers when plugging and unplugging is greatly improved.
3. A plug with a protective door driver is added.
Portable electrical products (such as hair dryers, shavers, etc.) have the problem that the plugs are easily loosened from the wall sockets during use. The new standard adds a plug with a protective door drive sheet, which plays a certain role in fixing and prevents the loosening of the removable electrical plug.
4. Modified the test gauge for plugs and sockets.
The new standard modifies the test gauge for plugs and sockets, improving the accuracy, consistency and standardization of test results.
