      Korea Lithium Battery KC Certification Change Information

      Author:中認(rèn)聯(lián)科 time:2020-06-17 Ctr:4169

      If you have a certification plan for exporting batteries to South Korea, please pay attention to the early change of KC certification standards to avoid export troubles.

      In order to enable consumers to more clearly understand the certification marks on the products they purchase, and to reduce the various certification costs burdened by product manufacturers, the Korea Institute of Technology and Standards (KATS) announced on August 20, 2008 in January 2009 The new certification system KC (Korea Certification) certification began on the 1st. The KC mark unifies 13 existing certification marks in Korea, such as eK, KCC, KPS, etc., aiming to protect the interests of consumers and promote the improvement of product quality .

      At present, for the export of batteries to South Korea, the application of KC standards has new regulations and requirements. The details are as follows:

      1.KC62133-2:2020 is based on IEC 62133-2/AMD1 (21A/721/CDV, which will be issued compulsorily from March 2021 to March).

      2. The KC range of rechargeable lithium batteries will be expanded to personal mobile devices with speeds below 25 kilometers per hour (for example: electric balance bikes, scooters, electric bicycles).

      The KC range of this product is effective from January 1, 2021;

      This means that from January 1, 2021, KC certificate is required for customs approval;

      The same procedure will be used as usual.

      3. KC62133-2:2020 is expected to start accepting applications in July 2020, and KC62133:2019 will be withdrawn on December 31, 2020.

      This means that the KC62133-2:2020 and KC62133:2019 standards have the same equivalent before December 31, 2020, but after that, the KC62133:2019 standard will no longer accept applications;

      This also means that CB-IEC62133:2012 can be accepted before December 31, 2020, and no more applications will be accepted after that.
