      Author:中認(rèn)聯(lián)科 time:2024-11-13 Ctr:1605

On September 17th, 2024, the Indian Bureau of Standards issued the Household and Commercial Similar Electrical Appliances (Quality Control) Order, with the standard number of IS302 (Part 1): 2008. The decree added 85 types of electrical products, which are suitable for household, commercial or similar appliances with rated voltage not exceeding 250V single-phase AC or 415V three-phase AC.

Date of implementation of the law

Implementation date of the regulations (excluding micro and small enterprises): March 17, 2025.

According to the definition of the Law on the Development of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in 2006 *, small and medium-sized enterprises that meet the relevant conditions will receive a longer buffer period, namely:

Implementation date of small enterprises: June 17, 2025

Implementation date of micro enterprises: September 17, 2025

      Note:

      * Small business: its investment in plant or machinery exceeds 250,000 rupees but not more than 50 million rupees (if it is engaged in or provides services, it will exceed 100,000 rupees but not more than 20 million rupees).

      * Micro-enterprises: their investment in plant or machinery shall not exceed 250,000 rupees (if they engage in or provide services, they shall not exceed 100,000 rupees).

      Applicable exempted purposes

The Act does not apply to goods or articles produced in India for export.

In addition, the first 200 goods or articles imported by electrical appliance manufacturers for scientific research purposes can be exempted from BIS compulsory certification.

It is worth noting that such imported goods or articles can be treated as waste, but not for commercial purposes, and manufacturers should keep relevant annual records for government agencies to review.
